Faculty of Environment and Information Studies
GIGA (Global Information and Communication Technology and Governance Academic) Program
Keio University, Japan

The GIGA (Global Information and Communication Technology and Governance Academic) Program, in the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, is the first undergraduate program to be offered in English at Keio University. The GIGA Program offers students a curriculum that integrates information technology and related policies with business. All core lectures are held solely in English, and students can register the required number of credits to graduate by completing courses conducted in English. Japanese language study is also offered so that international students can learn about Japanese culture and society, and increase their opportunity to find employment in Japan after graduation.

Keio is Japan's oldest, and arguably most prestigious, private university, with several prime ministers, hundreds of CEOs of major corporations, and at least two astronauts among our alumni/alumnae, including Japan's first woman astronaut. Students who have studied in various countries around the world come together with Japanese students on campus to study and learn from each other in this program, which was opened in the 2011 fall semester.
